The first day of competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics is in the books, as competition starts to pick up in earnest.
Four events – archery, women’s soccer, women’s handball and rugby sevens – will see action Thursday, though there will be a small break in competitive action, with the opening ceremony taking place Friday. Still, as always, the medal count will be the ultimate measure for bragging rights among the more than 200 countries that will have athletes competing in the Summer Games.
