General Motors is recalling 18,325 of its 2013-2019 Chevrolet Express Cutaway and GMC Savana Cutaway vehicles equipped with optional GM-provided body mounts (RPO BNC). The automotive manufacturer said in the NHTSA report, “the brake line may have insufficient clearance to the body mounts, which can result in brake line damage that can lead to a brake fluid leak.” A brake fluid leak can cause a break failure which will increase the risk of a crash, the report said.
Dealers will inspect and replace the brake line as necessary as a free service. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent on Nov. 4. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N242466950.

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 27,190 of its 2021-2023 S580 and Maybach S580 vehicles. In the NHTSA report, the luxury vehicles company said that “in the event of a mechanical failure in the engine Camtronic system, the engine control unit (ECU) software may cause the engine to overheat or stall.” An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash. If an engine overheats, it can increase the risk of a fire, the report said.
Dealers will update the ECU software for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by Nov. 26. Owners can contact Mercedes-Benz Customer Service at 1-877-496-3691.

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 2,025 of its 2024 vehicles. The luxury vehicles company said in the NHTSA report that “a software error in the MBUX multimedia system may deactivate certain vehicle systems, including the cross-traffic alert, which applies the brakes automatically in certain driving situations.” An automatic emergency braking system that does not function as intended can increase the risk of a crash, the report said.
The MBUX multimedia system software and parking control unit settings will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent on Nov. 12. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

Harley-Davidson is recalling 41,637 motorcycles due to a potential for short-circuiting and increased crash risk, according to the NHTSA.
According to the notice, a voltage regulator wire may rub on other components near the motorcycle's engine, wearing down the outer casing and exposing the wire. This can lead to short circuits and a loss of power with little to no warning to the driver, warned NHTSA.
For free, dealers will inspect and, as necessary, repair the voltage regulator output wire harness and install a secondary retention strap. Recall notification letters were sent on Sept. 23. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464. Harley-Davidson's number for this recall is 0186.

Toyota is recalling 42,199 of its 2023-2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid vehicles. “A software error in the skid control electronic control unit (ECU) may result in a loss of power brake assist when turning a corner," the NHTSA report said. The report said a loss of power brake assist can extend the distance needed to stop. This will increase the risk of a crash, the report said.
As a remedy, dealers will update the skid control ECU software. This service will be completed for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent on Nov. 5. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is 24TA11.

Mazda is recalling 77,670 of its 2016-2023 MX-5 Miata vehicles. The NHTSA report said that “a software error in the airbag control module may cause the front airbags to deploy with excessive force during a crash." An airbag that deploys with excessive force can increase the risk of an injury during a crash, the report said.
The NHTSA also said that the MX-5 Miata “fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, ‘Occupant Crash Protection.’”
To fix the issue, dealers will update the Sophisticated Air Bag Sensor (SAS) control module software. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by Nov. 17. Owners may contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500. Mazda's number for this recall is 6924I.
