1 dead, 2 hospitalized after fights lead to shooting in Clairton, Pennsylvania: Police

One person has died and two others are injured after a person opened fire into a crowd in Clairton, Pennsylvania, according to police.

At 3:58 a.m. Sunday, police and first responders were notified of a scene where multiple people were fighting in the street after receiving reports of a disturbance, according to a press release from the Allegheny County Police Department.

Clairton is located about 15 miles south of Pittsburgh.

When police arrived at 4:10 a.m., they heard multiple shots fired into the crowd. Police later detained one person at the scene.

Detectives are investigating the shooting, according to the police department.

One of the victims who survived was shot in the arm, and the other was shot in the leg, according to police. Both were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.

The man who later died was first able to flee the scene after he was shot and crashed his vehicle.

The man, who has not been publicly identified, flipped his vehicle and sheared it on a utility pole, local news station WPXI reported.
